Traditional Magnolian Recipes
Fried Oranges
INGREDIENTS:
Large Oranges (as many as you like)
Brown Sugar
METHOD:
Take one orange and cut it lengthways, into large circles, then again into semi-circles.
Cover either side of the orange slice into the sugar.
In a frypan, fry the oranges until both sides are golden, flipping the slices when necessary.
You can eat them straight from the pan, or wait a little until the sugar hardens into a light candy coating.
Milk Syrup
INGREDIENTS:
Milk
Golden Syrup
METHOD:
Warm the milk in a saucepan.
Add golden syrup until the milk has reached the desired sweetness and consistency.
Eat warm from the saucepan, or let cool slightly, as a sweet drink or sauce.
I recommend serving it drizzled on top of some bread.
